History of the company

S.L NEOKER was born in  2000. It arises from the Institute of Ceramic Materials of Galicia in association with the University of Santiago of Compostelle in Spain. Established by the own creators of the technology, it received the grant of the Ministry of Industry and the Energy, through the program Neotec. Neoker benefited also from the support of Unirisco S.C.R and Uninvest S.G.E.C.R, (funds for support and investment in public-private partnership) so allowing the development of this company of production in advanced materials, entering the composition of alloys (otherwise called composite) in the metal industry, the composite materials, the glass and the polymers.

In  2007, Neoker received the award of the ENISA (Empresa Nacional de Innovacion), national agency of the Spanish government, which rewards the most successful company in the innovative materials.

In 2009, to Arlington in Texas, Neoker was selected by the steering committee of " World Best Technologies  2009 " (WBT 09) to give a talk on the innovative subject concerning the manufacturing technology of the alumina single crystal fibers .
In 2009, the company decided to develop its activites on the French market, mainly in aeronautic and  space fields, so civil as military.

Fields of expertise

 

NEOKER is, presently, the only world producer of whiskers of pure alumina (nano single-crystal particles of alpha Al203).

In shape of nano filaments, this material is the indispensable reinforcement for diverse standards of advanced composites.

 

 

 

Mechanical and thermal resistance increased, resistance to chemical attacks,  weight benefits, are the main assets of the pure alumina whiskers.

Neoker’s innovations  were developed throughout numerous years of investigation. They are protected in the spanish and international patents of the company, published in scientific documents.

Several prizes and an international recognition for  quality and  properties of this revolutionary material, give Neoker the position, today,  as the major supplier in reinforcement of diverse high-performance materials.

Applications

Neoker work in two additional fields:
-      Supply  whiskers of pure alumina fibers to elaborate alloys with innovative properties according to activities of customers. At this stage, the target is to create a "driver" of material for testing him in specific applications.
-      Support the customers for elaboration of a « driver » and continuation of applications. With an innovative frame of mind, the team of the research department of Neoker collaborates with his customers in the search of concrete solutions  to bring competitive advantages.

 

 

Development

Neoker continue its efforts in research and technology transfer to maintain the performance and the quality of its products at the highest requirement of his customers.
